Intake and Evaluation
The intake process takes approximately 2 hours. Collateral Information will be needed at this time. This includes any information the parole/probation agent has on the offender – criminal complaint, presentence investigation, description of the offense, green sheet, probation/parole stipulations, any summarization reviews from prison or any other pertinent information.
Referral Process
Have the offender call me to discuss the intake for sexual offender's treatment. I will inform the client they must begin saving their money for the intake.

Attendance: The offender will be expected to attend all group sessions weekly and they will be informed of this at the intake. Excused absences include: medical appointments and emergencies and unexcused absences include: work, no ride to treatment, and if they do not have their payment prior to the service. The Parole/Probation officer will be informed of any unexcused sessions within 24 hours. Two to three consecutive no shows to treatment (no call or no show), three unexcused absences within a year time, or lack of motivation or progress in treatment will result in an unsuccessful discharge.

Polygraph Examinations
Polygraph Examinations will be administered every 6 to 8 months for each offender or recommended by
Parole/Probation. The questions for each Polygraph Examinations will be discussed with each Parole/Probation Officer
prior to the examination. There are different Polygraph Exams which include Sexual Disclosure, Denial, Maintenance
and Monitoring Examinations.
Abel Assessments
Abel Assessment is used to determine sexual interest for an offender. The Abel Assessment consists of slides which the offender must rate on whether he/she is attracted to each slide on a scale from 1 to 7, 1 being highly sexually disgusting to 7 being highly sexually arousing, and there is also an objective measure to compare. This part of the assessment takes about twenty to thirty minutes to complete. There are also questions to be answered by the offender about his/hers deviant sexual interest/behaviors. This approximately takes the offender an hour and a half to two hours to complete. It also determines whether the offender is being honest about his/her disclosure of sexual interest or history on the assessment and cognitive distortions/ thinking errors.
Risk Assessments
A Risk Assessment can also be administered on a needed basis either by the provider, referral source, and/or Probation and Parole recommendations. The Risk Assessment does just this, assesses risk using objective measures utilizing the offender's background and/or criminal history. The objective tools which can be utilized in the Risk Assessment are the Static-99R, Stable 2007, Acute 2007, Affinity, and HARE.. Other assessment tools may also be utilized to determine risk.
