Other assessment tools may also be utilized to determine risk.

Comprehensive
Psychosexual Evaluation

This includes any information the parole/probation agent has on the offender – criminal complaint, presentence investigation, description of the offense, green sheet, probation/parole stipulations, any summarization reviews from prison or any other pertinent information. A complete history will be gathered including, mental health status exam, sexual history, family history, and drug/alcohol history.
Polygraph Examinations
Polygraph Exams will be administered every 6 to 8 months for each offender or recommended by Parole/Probation. There are several different types of examinations which include, sexual disclosure exam, denial exam, maintenance exam, and monitoring exam.
Containment Approach
The “containment approach” is defined as the collaboration between the PA Board of Probation and Parole, County Probation and the treatment provider in maintaining close contact and communication by either monthly meetings reviewing each case or having telephone or email contact weekly with the treatment progress. A treatment progress report will be sent to Parole/Probation office monthly. With the collaboration, the treatment provider can listen for risks or triggers within the group process and report the information to Parole/Probation. Parole/Probation monitors within the community for the treatment provider, therefore; they can exchange information to maintain safety in the community.
